Description

Brook House is a house that likely dates from the early 18th century, with later extensions. It features a timber frame and a tiled roof, with a rear stack. The building has two storeys and an attic, consisting of three bays with a regular arrangement of windows. There are matching 20th-century casements, three on each floor, and the entrance is located slightly to the left of the centre bay. The frame is characterized by regular small square panels, arranged four panels high from the cill to the first floor level and four panels from the first floor to the wall-plate, with weatherings immediately below the first floor windows and on the left return. There is also a 19th-century single-storey extension at the rear. Notably, this house is unusual in the area for the height of its second storey.
