Description
No. 28 South Street is a house, now used as offices, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick and has a slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall with a cellar and features a four-window range, although there is a blocked tier above the doorway. The windows are primarily 8/8 sashes, with two 20th-century sashes to the right, all set under gauged brick flat arches. The eaves are moulded wood. The entrance is located to the centre left and consists of a two-moulded-panel door with roundels, situated in panelled reveals beneath a moulded wood pediment supported by pilasters. To the left of the entrance is an 8/8 sash window with a wrought-iron guard, and to the right are two more 8/8 sash windows, all again featuring gauged brick flat arches. The interior has not been inspected.
