Description
This cow house, located about 45 yards south-west of Church Farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and features a corrugated iron roof. The building has a rectangular plan that runs north to south and consists of one storey with a loft.
On the west elevation, there are six windows and circular iron wall tie plates placed at regular intervals. The ground floor has six segmental heads, which include five ledged doors and one opening with three windows from the north. Additionally, there are six large pitching holes under square heads on the first floor, which is referred to locally as a tallet or loft.
