Description

The Wellington War Memorial is made of rough-hewn Cornish granite. It features a cross on top of a tapering shaft, which is mounted on a square plinth that rests on a domed base. At the base of the shaft, there is an indented panel with a carved inscription in black-painted letters that reads "FOR KING AND/ COUNTRY/ 1914 – 1918/ (NAMES)." The front face of the plinth is inscribed with the word "WELLINGTON."
