Description

Lugg View and No. 20 West Wyn is a house, now divided into two homes, dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a hipped twin span roof covered with Welsh slate, along with two brick ridge stacks that have banding.

The exterior is two storeys tall with a cellar and has a four-window range. Three of the windows are late 19th century 2/2 sashes set beneath hood-mouldings. To the left, there is a late 19th century canted two-tier bay window with a combination of 1/1, 2/2, and 1/1 sashes, also under a hood-moulding. The building has a parapet with a castellated design. The entrance is located to the centre right and features a six-fielded-panel door with a Gothick overlight. To the right of the entrance are two late 19th century 2/2 sashes, and to the left is the bay window, all under hood-mouldings.

The right side of the building is constructed of coursed rubble with brick modillion eaves. The rear is made of painted brick and also features brick modillion eaves. It has four late 19th century 2/2 sashes and one plain late 19th century sash. The rear entrance includes a four-panel door with an overlight that has glazing bars, flanked by a 6/6 sash and a 10/5 sash, all under brick segmental arches.

Inside, the property features an early to mid 19th century dogleg staircase with a turned newel, stick balusters, and a swan neck rail. On the first floor, there are five four-panel doors with architraves. The ground floor includes a late 19th century six-panel door, another six-panel door with an architrave, a ceiling rose and coving, alcoves and cupboards, two plank doors, and a four-panel door leading to the cellar. The cellar is stone-lined with a flagstone floor. It is noted that the two right-hand windows at the rear belong to a flying freehold of Lugg View.
