Description
This building is a corn mill located about 75 metres north of Church House in Yarpole, dating from the early 18th century with an extension from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features a slate roof, with the later extension made of brick and softwood frame. The mill is aligned east to west and has a 19th-century lean-to on its west side. The south front has three storeys; the first floor includes a small window on the right, while the ground floor has two similar windows. The entrance on the left features a wooden architrave and a stable door. The lean-to on the left-hand gable end includes a loft door above a double door. To the right-hand gable, there is a mill race, although only the shaft of the water wheel remains. The interior retains the main shafts, but the gearing has been lost, and there are two pairs of stones on the first floor that were formerly overdriven.
