Description
The Cider House, located about 20 yards north-west of The Brainge, is an 18th-century structure that was extended in the early 19th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill, brick, weatherboards, and a tiled roof. The building has four or five structural bays that are aligned roughly east to west and consists of two levels. The south elevation is primarily brick in the center and right sections, with a rubble extension on the left, supported by five battered brick buttresses, likely added in the late 19th century. This elevation also includes two segmentally-headed openings. The north elevation displays a timber-framed wall that is three panels high. Inside, the building has dropped tie-beams that support queen struts connected to collars, with the queen struts linked by horizontal members to the tops of the wall-plates.
