Description
The Cider House, located approximately 2 meters west of Manor Farmhouse, dates back to the 17th century. It features square-panelled timber framing with painted brick infill set on a coursed squared and dressed limestone plinth, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The building has a rectangular plan and stands one and a half storeys tall.
On the east-facing elevation, there is an unglazed two-light window supported by stanchions, along with an early plank door with strap hinges and a thumb latch positioned on the far left, and another plank door on the far right. The north gable end includes two two-light windows with stanchions and plank drip boards, as well as two similar windows above. The south gable end features two two-light windows with leaded panes and a blocked pitching window in the gable. There is also a small shuttered opening on the west-facing elevation.
Inside, the Cider House has a flagged floor and retains original roof trusses with collar and tie-beams.
