Description

This barn and cowhouse, located about 20 yards south-east of Holt Farmhouse, is likely from the 18th century but was remodeled in the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and has a corrugated asbestos roof. The building is aligned north/south and consists of five roof bays. There are two rows of ventilator slits on either side of the central threshing entrances, and three entrances for the cowhouse on the west side, two of which to the north are blocked. Inside, the structure features raking and queen strut trusses, with rafters that have shaped ends. The building is included for its group value.
