Description
This building is a barn and cow house located about 90 yards south of Kiverknoll Farmhouse, likely dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a timber frame with weatherboards and a corrugated iron roof. The structure has a rectangular seven-bay plan oriented north to south, with two levels in the cow house section at the northern end.
On the east elevation, the upper floor of the right part is clad in corrugated iron, beneath which are four ledged doors set into the sandstone rubble plinth. To the left, there is a full-height gabled porch leading to the threshing floor, with the gable covered in weatherboarding and double-leaved ledged doors. Adjacent to the porch are two rows of two vent loops. The north gable has a ground floor opening featuring diamond-section oak mullions, while the south gable is made of rubble and includes paired vent slits. Inside, there are raking struts connecting the ties to the principal rafters. This building is included for its group value.
