Description
This former barn, located about 35 yards east of the former Poolend Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It features a timber frame with sandstone rubble and brick infill, covered with weatherboards and topped with a tiled roof. The barn consists of four bays arranged in a north-east to south-west orientation, with a full-height entry in the second bay from the left and a ledged door at the extreme left. The frame is constructed with four panels high from the cill to the wall-plate. There is a brick lean-to with a corrugated roof to the right of the entry. Inside, the barn has raking struts connecting the ties to the principals. This building is part of the farm complex associated with the former Poolend Farmhouse.
