Description

Former Poolend Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with 18th and 19th-century additions and alterations. The farmhouse has a brick construction, with portions of timber framing visible on the south side, and roofs covered in tiles and slate. Brick stacks are also present. The main range runs north-west to south-east and includes a gabled projection at the north-east corner and a timber-framed projection at the north-west end. A large 18th-century block is situated at the south-east corner. The north-east elevation has a three-by-one window arrangement with 2-light and 3-light casements. A glazing bar sash window is present on the first floor of the gable front, and a mid-20th century door is located to the right. The south-west elevation features the timber-framed section to the left with 20th-century casements in the gable front. The 18th-century block has a later cross-casement window on the first floor, a glazed central door with a transom light, and a dentilled brick eaves cornice.
