Description
This barn, located about 15 yards north-east of The Grove, is likely from the 18th century. It features a timber-frame construction with weatherboards, brick, and cleft oak infill panels, topped with a tiled roof. The barn has four bays that are oriented roughly north to south. The east elevation includes a ledged cart entry in the second bay from the left, accompanied by a 4-pane window and a ledged door to its right. There is a 19th-century lean-to on the left side of the entry and another on the right gable. The right bay appears to be a later addition, possibly from the early 19th century. Inside, the barn has triple angle strut trusses above the ties for the threshing floor, and V-struts from the collars to the principals in the other trusses. The northern bay contains a tallet, which previously housed a cider mill and press on the ground floor.
