4/143 Barn about 15 yards north-east of The Grove

GV II

Barn. Probably C18. Timber-frame, weatherboards, brick and cleft oak infill panels and tiled roof. Four bays aligned roughly north/south. East elevation has ledged opposed cart entry in second bay from left and a 4-pane window and ledged door to its right; C19 lean-to to left of entry and to right gable. The right bay is a later, possibly early C19 extension. Interior has triple angle strut trusses above the ties to threshing floor and V-struts from collars to principals in the other trusses. Tallet to northern bay, which formerly housed a cider mill and press on ground floor.
