Description

This fountain, located about 50 yards south of Whitfield, is likely from around 1768. It features a central octagonal column made of white marble or limestone, adorned with putti in bas relief above strapwork cartouches that support four bronze spouts. At the top, a single putto entwined by a serpent completes the design. The basin surrounding the pool is octagonal and decorated with multi-coloured scagliola panels, which are separated by corner pilasters, and it has a moulded base and coping. The fountain was relocated to this site in the late 20th century.
