Description

The Black Boy Fountain, located in Allan Park, Stirling, is a mid-19th century structure created by Neilson & Co of Glasgow. It features a black painted cast iron design with a tiered structure set on an octagonal stone base. At the top of the fountain is a figure of a putto. The central column is decorated, tapered, and fluted, supporting a wide, shallow basin above, which is surmounted by another similar basin that holds a smaller basin. Above this is a figure of a small putto with a floral trumpet. The fountain is set in a low octagonal stone basin that includes four fish head water spouts.
