Description

Walter Mayos memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 10 meters north-east of the chancel of the Church of St Deinst. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of ashlar stone. The memorial features a moulded plinth and a slightly hipped capping. Fluted balusters with gadrooned bases flank a fielded rectangular inscription panel that has a fan motif in the corners. It commemorates Walter Mayos, who died in 1835, and is well preserved with crisp detail.
