2/35 Walters memorial about 23 metres north of north porch of Church of St Mary

GV II

Chest tomb. Mary Walters, died 1806. Ashlar. Bold corner balusters decorated with sprigs of wheat,slightly raised inscription panel flanked by husks and paterae, bevelled top. Inscription: "Sacred to the Memory of Mary/ Wife of Aeneas Walters/ of Bwlch in this Parish/ Gent/ who died 24th day of April/ 1806/ aged 73 years/ [ 6 more lines ]". North side panel is missing. This is a good example of stone masonry and enhances the setting of the church; it contributes to the group value of the other memorials in the churchyard.
