Description
The stables and hayloft located about 10 yards west of Kinford Farmhouse are likely from the 18th century, with some later alterations and an addition. The structure features a sandstone rubble plinth, a weatherboarded timber frame, and a corrugated iron roof. It has a rectangular three-bay plan oriented north-east to south-west and consists of two levels.
On the south-east elevation, there are two square loft openings, one positioned to the left of center and the other on the right side, both set against the weatherboarding. The ground floor, made of sandstone rubble, includes two late 19th-century cast iron windows with six panes and top vents, located one on the left side and the other to the right of center. A stable door is situated between these windows, and there is a wagon entry on the right-hand side.
Attached to the left side is a mid-19th-century brick lean-to that features a stable door. Inside, the structure has trusses with raking struts. This building is included for its group value.
