Description
The building is a pair of stables located 2 meters south west of Rectory Farmhouse, dating from the mid 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of squared ironstone and features a steeply pitched corrugated iron roof. The stables have a rubble plinth and coped gables with kneelers. The structure is two storeys high and consists of three unequal bays.
On the north side, there is a near-central doorway with 20th-century wooden jambs and a lintel. To the left of this doorway, there is a smaller doorway, which is flanked on the right by a boarded-up window. The west gable features a square hatch above. The south side has a near-central door, and above it, to the left, there is a pitch hole with a close boarded door.
Inside, the western section has a single purlin principal rafter roof with collars and a ridge. There is a central dividing wall that includes a pitch hole above. The stables are included for their group value.
