Description
This barn, located about 40 yards west-south-west of the Old Country House, likely dates from the 17th century. It is timber-framed, with wattle and weatherboarding above a rubble plinth, and features a tiled roof. The barn consists of six bays and has two pairs of opposed entrances: one in the third bay from the north and the other in the southernmost bay, both of which have remnants of full-height weatherboarded doors. There is a catslide extension to the west of the bay south of the northern entrance, which formerly housed a horse-engine for threshing. Inside, there are threshing-floors located near the entrances, heavy jowled posts with queen posts supporting the collars, and remains of wattle partitions.
