Shops and dwellings. Earlier C19 front to C17 core. Stucco; painted brick; slate roof; brick end stack. 3 storeys and cellar; 2-window range: 6/6 sashes in moulded stucco architraves; to 2nd floor, with sillband; central and quoin pilasters, to moulded band and cornice; stone coped parapet with pilasters. Ground floor of engraved stucco; central entrances: C20 glazed doors with cambered heads; flanked by C20 plate glass windows with cambered heads. INTERIOR: No.49: cellar: brick vault; some ashlar, including column; chamfered ceiling beams, with stops to joists; plank doors. No.48: retains elaborate plaster ceilings of c1600 to 1st and 2nd floor front rooms; plaster mouldings divide large panels into variously shaped panels and these are filled with fleur-de-lys, fruit, leaves and bosses. Cellar has metal wine-racks.
