Description

This is a headstone for Margaret Inns, who died in 1776, located about 10 yards south-west of the south porch of the Church of St Bartholomew in Much Marcle. The headstone is made of sandstone and is designed in the Gothick style. It features a raised ogee-headed moulding with egg and dart decoration that extends through the top of the headstone and separates two putti blowing trumpets. Inside this, there is a second, plain ogee moulding.
