Description

Castle Hill Cottage is a late 18th and early 19th century house located on Church Road, Kington. The exterior is roughcast over coursed stone rubble, with a Welsh slate roof. It has rubble buttress stacks with brick chimneys on each side. The house is two stories high with a three-window front. The windows are late 19th century 6/6 sash windows. The central entrance has a late 19th century part-glazed 6-panel door sheltered by a simple sheet-metal hood supported on scrolled brackets, flanked by late 19th century 6/6 sash windows. There is a roughcast wing at the rear with a buttress stack. This group value context recognises the building as a fine example of its type, and a positive contribution to the area.
