Description
The Porch House is a late 16th-century house located on Church Road in Kington. It features post and panel timber-framing with plaster and a graduated stone tile roof, topped by a central rubble diagonal ridge stack. The house has two storeys and a five-window range. The central gable porch bay contains a modern two-light metal casement, with additional casements on the returned sides. It is flanked by two modern three-light metal casements, all with leaded lights that include some old glass. The central entrance has a plank door situated in an open porch beneath a jetty, flanked by modern mullion and transom casements with leaded lights and a moulded bressumer. On the right side, there are two modern two-light casements beneath a lattice-framed gable, while the left side has similar casements above a mullion and transom casement. At the rear, there is a wing with a stone tile roof and a rendered stack. The house was relocated from the south-west end of Bridge Street in the 20th century.
