Description
The Methodist Church, originally a house, dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with early 19th-century and later alterations. It features a timber frame with brick infill, a brick and sandstone rubble plinth, and a tiled roof. The building has a rectangular three-bay plan oriented north-west to south-east and is one storey high.
On the north-east elevation, there are three windows, which are 2-light early 20th-century casements, one in each bay, and two ledged doors, one in the centre and one on the right side. The south-west elevation showcases three semi-circular headed cast iron windows with small panes set in painted brickwork. The gable front facing the road displays exposed timber-framing at the top, above another semi-circular headed cast iron window, and features a central gabled early 20th-century porch.
