Description
This is a barn located about 15 yards north-west of Llanfrother, likely dating from the 17th century with later alterations. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and a timber frame with brick and wattle-and-daub infill, topped with a squared sandstone and corrugated iron roof. The barn has four bays aligned north-east to south-west and consists of two levels.
On the south elevation, there is one square opening above a garage entry on the left side, along with three square ground floor openings and two additional entries, one on the right side and one to the left of the center. The west gable includes a three-light oak mullioned window at the upper level. The east gable displays exposed panels and queen-struts to the collar, above which are scissor struts. The frame consists of three square panels high from the cill to the wall-plate.
Attached to the north side is a sandstone lean-to extension, likely from the early 19th century. Inside, the barn has queen-struts to the collars. This building is included for its group value.
