Description
No. 15 South Street is a house that has been converted into offices. It dates from the late 18th century and has undergone some alterations over time. The building is constructed of brick and features a steep-pitched hipped roof made of Welsh slate. There is a brick party stack on the left side and a ridge stack on the right. The house has three storeys and a cellar, with a three-window range that includes late 19th-century plain sash windows, which are covered by simple wooden awnings and set under gauged brick flat arches. The windows are arranged as 4/8 sashes beneath the same type of arches. A moulded stone cornice leads to a 20th-century restored parapet that is coped with concrete tiles.
The late 19th-century shop front features a central glazed and panelled door that is recessed within panelled reveals, topped with a shouldered moulded architrave. This door is flanked by plate-glass windows. To the left of the shop front, there is a missing door and overlight, which are also recessed in panelled reveals and have an interrupted shouldered architrave. The shop front is adorned with a moulded wooden hood supported by enriched consoles and plain pilasters, and there is a cellar grille. The interior has not been inspected. This building is part of a group with No. 13 South Street.
