Description
No. 3 South Street is a shop and dwelling built in the late 18th century or early 19th century, with later alterations. The building is constructed of painted brick and topped with a Welsh slate roof. It has three storeys and features a single-window range, including an 8/8 sash window under a stucco lintel and a 4/8 sash window, with brick modillion eaves. The shop front, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, includes a central half-glazed panelled door with a plain overlight, set between canted plate-glass windows that have ringed glazing bars and clerestory lights, all beneath a hood supported by consoles. The right side of the building has a gable that is partly slate-hung with exposed plates. The interior has not been inspected.
