Description

NORTON CANON CP - SO 35 SE 2/86 Wainhouse about 30 yards west of Hyatt Sarnesfield GV II Wainhouse. Probably late C18 or early C19. Brick plinth with weatherboarded timber-frame and some corrugated iron cladding. Sandstone slate roof. Three bays aligned roughly north-east/south-west. One storey. North-west elevation has weatherboarding to right-hand side and corrugated iron to the left. Entry in south-west gable. North-east gable has corrugated iron cladding. Frame has narrow studs from cill to wall-plate. Interior has pegged king-posts each carrying a pair of diagonal struts. Each tie is supported by a pair of angle struts from wall-posts which also have angle struts to wall-plates. Included for group value.
