Wainhouse About 30 Yards West Of Hyatt Sarnesfield

Wainhouse, located about 30 yards west of Hyatt Sarnesfield, is likely from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features a brick plinth with a weatherboarded timber frame and some areas covered in corrugated iron. The roof is made of sandstone slate. The building has three bays and is aligned roughly northeast to southwest, consisting of one storey. The northwest elevation shows weatherboarding on the right side and corrugated iron on the left. There is an entry in the southwest gable, while the northeast gable is clad in corrugated iron. The frame includes narrow studs extending from the cill to the wall-plate. Inside, there are pegged king-posts that support pairs of diagonal struts. Each tie beam is held up by a pair of angle struts from the wall-posts, which also have angle struts connecting to the wall-plates. This building is included for its group value.
