Description

The cider mill and granary, located about 5 yards north-west of Wickton Court, is a building that dates from the late 18th century and has been partly converted for use as workshops with some alterations made in the late 20th century. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and timber framing, with rendered infill and some weatherboarding, topped by a corrugated metal roof. The structure consists of six bays arranged in a north-east to south-west orientation and has two to three levels.

On the main south-east elevation, the ground floor features a large opening with a timber lintel, a small two-light window, and a three-light late 20th-century casement window. The first floor includes four two-light late 20th-century windows (one with pointed lights), a late 20th-century pointed window with Y-tracery, a tripartite sash window with a central nine-pane sash, and a large two-light window. There are also two loft doors, with one accessed by original rubble steps and the other by late 20th-century timber steps. The building has three doorways, two of which have half-glazed late 20th-century doors, and one features a left side light. A lean-to outshut is attached to the north-east elevation.

Inside, the roof is supported by open upper cruck trusses. The south-western end of the building contains a cider mill and part of a cider press.
