Description
This barn, located approximately 15 meters south-west of The Steps Farmhouse, dates from the 18th century and has 19th-century additions. It features a timber frame with an additional brick bay, a sandstone plinth, and a combination of woven cleft oak and weatherboard cladding, along with some brick infill. The roof is tiled. Originally a three-bay barn oriented north-east to south-west, it has been extended with additional bays, including a brick bay to the south-west and a framed bay to the north-east, resulting in a total of five bays. The former central threshing floor is now a stable accommodation in the brick bay, while the bay to the north-east contains a cider mill and press with a loft above. The barn is included for its group value.
