Description

The building is a stable located about 5 metres south of Green Farmhouse in Preston-on-Wye. It dates back to the 15th century, with parts rebuilt between the late 17th century and early 18th century, along with some repairs from the 19th century. The structure is timber-framed and features weatherboarding beneath a corrugated iron roof. It consists of four framed bays arranged in a north/south direction, with the northern bay rebuilt in the 17th century and the two central bays originally forming an open hall. The east front has three stable entrances. Inside, there are four cruck trusses, with the central truss of the hall featuring an arch-braced collar and showing signs of being smoke blackened.
