Description
The building is a former stable, now used for storage, located 20 metres south of Wynnstay Farmhouse. It dates from the early 17th century and was partially rebuilt in the late 19th century. The structure features timber framing with brick nogging set on a stone base, and has an orange brick facade in English garden wall bond. The roof is made of Welsh slate.
The stable is two storeys high with a four-bay front facing north-west. The ground floor has a line of four doors, three of which are topped with flat wedged stone lintels, while one has a segmental brick head. There are three circular pitch-holes with stone sills and a square pitch-hole located above them. The rear wall and left gable are constructed with regular small framing and angle braces, while the right gable is made of stone blocks.
Inside, there are timber partition walls supported by large tension braces, and the roof trusses consist of a tiebeam and two diagonal struts.
