Description
Holly Cottage is a cottage dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and brick nogging on a stone base, featuring brick repairs and extensions. The roof is made of corrugated iron and there is one gable brick chimney. The cottage likely originally had a two-room baffle entry layout. It has a one-storey and attic design with a one-bay gabled front, displaying six by three regular small frames with passing braces. The windows are two-light wooden casements. The truss consists of a tiebeam and collar with vertical struts between and two diagonal struts above. There is a door located in the extension on the left-hand side. The right-hand side retains complete timber framing, while brick is used elsewhere. The interior has not been inspected.
