Description
This barn, located about 50 yards north-west of New House, is likely from the 17th century and has undergone some later alterations. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and gable, with a timber-frame construction that includes some exposed woven infill and sections of weatherboarding. The roof is made of sandstone slate and corrugated iron. The barn has a rectangular six-bay layout oriented north-east to south-west. The south-east elevation displays woven oak laths, and there is an opposed wagon entry located to the left of the center. The frame consists of three panels high from the cill to the wall-plate. Inside, some trusses with collars support raking struts, while others have queen struts to the collars. New House is not included in this listing.
