Description
The barn located about 40 yards south-west of Lady Arbour Farmhouse dates from the late 17th century. It is timber-framed with lath infill and is weatherboarded on a rubble base, topped with a corrugated asbestos roof. The structure consists of seven framed bays oriented north-west to south-east, featuring wagon bays with opposing cart entries and double doors in the third and sixth bays from the north-west end. The north-west elevation includes a stable door along with two ledged and battened doors. Inside, the wall framing consists of four panels from the sill to the wall-plate. The roof features collar and tie-beam trusses with two collars, struts, and V-struts above the collar at the ends, as well as intermediate collar and tie-beam trusses, primarily with raking struts across the lower corners.
