Description

The Parish Rooms, originally a school built around 1875, are constructed from red brick with blue brick and ashlar dressings. The building features a plain tile roof with a decorative ridge and has a single red brick stack at the rear. On the left gable, there is a single gabled bellcote with a pointed ashlar arch that was originally over a bell. The gables are coped with ashlar, and there is a blue brick plinth.

This single-storey structure has three bays, with three two-light casements that have ashlar mullions and flush ashlar quoin surrounds, alternating with two buttresses. To the right, there is a lean-to that includes a pointed chamfered ashlar arched doorway with a plank door in the side wall, and two casements at the front, one of which has an ashlar surround.

At the rear, there is a single-storey, two-bay range with two two-light casements featuring ashlar mullions and flush ashlar quoin surrounds. The left gable wall, which faces Loughborough Road, has a single central buttress flanked by single ashlar cross casements in flush ashlar quoin surrounds. Above these are pointed ashlar arched recessed panels with decorative red brick and ashlar infill. In the apex of the gable, there is a single quatrefoil light set into an ashlar circle.

The building is included for its group value only.
