Description
No. 15 Main Street is a house that was originally two cottages, built in the 17th century and refaced in the 18th century. The structure was originally timber framed and is now faced in red brick, topped with a concrete pantile roof. It features two gable and one ridge red brick stacks. The house is two storeys high and has six bays. From left to right, the front includes a single tripartite glazing bar Yorkshire sash window under a segmental arch, a single glazing bar Yorkshire sash window, a doorway with a plank door under a segmental arch, another tripartite glazing bar Yorkshire sash window under a segmental arch, a doorway with a part glazed door under a segmental arch, and a final single glazing bar Yorkshire sash window. On the upper floor, there are three glazing bar Yorkshire sashes and two segmental arched glazing bar Yorkshire sashes to the right. The building has five tie plates. Inside, there is a wide fireplace with a stepped fire hood, doors with wooden latches, a single panelled cupboard, some chamfered beams and posts, and the tie beam and brace of a single truss.
