Description
The barn dated 1734 at Bunny Hall is a threshing barn designed and built for Sir Thomas Parkyns. It features red brick with blue brick chequering and has a plain tile roof. The large doorway is fitted with a plank door and is flanked by single pilaster buttresses. To the right of the doorway is a single opening with a plank shutter, while to the left are two similar openings and shutters, with the leftmost bay being a later 18th-century extension. The original 1734 structure includes three rows of slit ventilators, most of which are now blocked. The right gable wall is inscribed in blue brick with "S T P 1734." Inside, posts are mounted on corbels set into the wall, and these, along with single curved braces, support the tie beam and wall plate. Sir Thomas Parkyns, who lived from around 1662 to 1741, undertook significant improvements and rebuilding of Bunny Hall according to his own designs.
