Description
The Beeches is a 17th-century cottage located on Little Lane in Collingham. It is constructed from coursed blue lias rubble and brick, with remnants of timber framing visible in the first-floor walls. The cottage features a steeply pitched pantile roof with brick coped gables and kneelers, as well as a single gable and an off-centre ridge stack. There is a first-floor band on the west gable.
The building is two storeys high and has three windows. The west side has a half-glazed door from the 19th century, flanked by a single 20th-century two-light casement window. To the east, there is another single 20th-century two-light casement and a 19th-century half-glazed door, all of which have segmental heads. On the upper floor, there are three 20th-century two-light casements.
Adjacent to the cottage is a single-bay, single-storey outbuilding to the east, made of brick with a pantile roof and a 20th-century part-glazed door.
