Description
No. 8 London Road is a house built in the late 19th century, with some changes made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick with a colourwashed front and features a pantile roof with sprocketed eaves. The building has decorative first and second floor bands, as well as cogged and dentilled eaves, and includes two gable stacks. The windows are designed with rubbed brick heads, featuring a three-window range of plain sashes on the upper floors and three smaller glazing bar sashes above. The central doorcase, which dates from the 19th century, is made of plain stone and has a flat hood supported by heavy scroll brackets. It contains a 20th-century door with an overlight, flanked by single plain sashes.
