Description

No. 46 High Street is a house built in the late 18th century and modified in the mid 19th century. It features a cement-rendered exterior and a machine-tiled roof with brick gable stacks. The building has a brick dentil eaves cornice and stands two storeys tall. The east elevation is symmetrical with three bays. The central entrance has a painted doorcase supported by pilasters and shallow consoles, topped with a hoodmould. The door is raised and fielded panelled, accompanied by a traceried fanlight. On either side of the entrance are 19th-century canted bay windows with single bar sashes. Above, there are three glazing bar sashes, with the central one being narrower. Inside, the house includes a stick baluster staircase and several late 18th-century chimneypieces.
