Description

This is an early 19th-century house located on the High Street in the Parish of Repton. The house, named 'St Wystan's', is constructed of red brick, with some parts rendered, and has a plain tile roof with a brick ridge stack. It is three storeys high.

The east elevation has four bays. Distinctive features include sill bands on the first and second floors, and a moulded cornice. The centrally placed doorway has a wooden doorcase with a shallow hood supported by consoles. The door itself is raised and fielded panelled. Flanking the doorway on each side are glazing bar sashes within moulded architraves. To the left of the main doorway is another doorway with a moulded architrave and a plank door. Above this are four glazing bar sashes in moulded architraves, and above those again is an oval traceried window set within a rectangular moulded architrave. A small glazing bar sash with moulded jambs is located to the right, and two similar windows are situated to the left. The rear elevation features a tall staircase window.

The interior includes a closed string stick baluster staircase with a ramped handrail, delicate turned newels, and moulded pendants. Exposed beams are also present. The northern end of the house indicates a possible remodelling of a 17th-century building.
