Description
School House is a late 19th-century building that served as both a school and a teacher's house. It is constructed of brick with patterned tile hanging and plain tile roofs, featuring ashlar dressings. The building has a brick plinth with chamfered ashlar coping, a sill band, a moulded first-floor band, and bargeboards on curved brackets. It has a single grouped ridge stack and consists of two storeys with a cross plan and four bays.
On the south front, there is a two-storey gabled bay on the left and a gabled porch on the right. The porch contains a moulded doorcase with a hood mould and a 19th-century door. To the left of the porch, there is a moulded Tudor arched doorway with a foundation stone, although the inscription is illegible. There is also a single casement window to the left and two smaller casements to the right.
The east side features a chamfered square casement below and a casement above to the left. The east gable has a double leaded sash window on the left and a chamfered pointed doorway on the right. The west gable has a single casement window. A gabled rear wing, which is single and two storeys, has a door flanked by single casements and another casement to the right, with a casement above.
