Description
This is a terrace of three houses located on Millgate in Newark on Trent. They were built in the late 18th century. The houses are constructed of brick with stone dressings and have slate roofs. A plinth with scraper courses and segmental cellar lights runs along the base, and a band separates the ground and first floors. The eaves are dentilled, and there are two gable and two ridge stacks.
Number 80, which slightly projects from the terrace, has three bays. The windows are glazing bar sashes, some of which are blank. They have rubbed brick heads and multiple keystones. The building is three storeys high, with a nine-window range on the main facade, and a row of nine smaller windows above.
Number 82, on the left, has a central doorcase featuring reeded pilasters, an open pediment on curved brackets, and a recessed six-panel door with a fanlight. The door is flanked by single sashes. Numbers 78 and 80 share similar doorcases to the left, with two sashes on the right side of each. Both houses have dummy fanlights above their doors.
