Description
The pigeoncote, originally located in the grounds of Halam House, is now situated at Halam Dale and is utilized by H. G. Rickett and Company. This structure dates from the mid-18th century and is constructed of red brick with some ashlar elements. It features a pyramidal concrete pantile roof and has a raised eaves band. The building is two storeys high and consists of a single bay with a first-floor band.
On the north side, there is a carriage archway with ashlar hinge blocks, above which is a blocked segmental arched opening. The west wall includes a segmental arched doorway on the first floor. The south side has a doorway with a stable door, topped by a segmental arched fixed light. Inside, the pigeoncote contains brick nesting boxes along all four sides, extending from floor to ceiling.
