Description

The Pigeoncote to The Old Hall is a pigeon house dating from around 1600. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings. The roof is made of Collyweston slate and features raised stone coped gables with eaves and ridge obelisk finials. The building has a rectangular plan and is two stories high with a single bay gabled front.

The front includes a low four-centred arched doorway with a reused planked door that has facetted wooden reveals with stop-chamfered edges. Above the doorway, there is a single two-light ovolo moulded mullioned window with an ashlar surround and cornice. On the ridge of the roof, there are two slate-hung squared louvred flight turrets. Inside, the building has a butt purlin pegged oak roof, and it contains stone-lined nesting boxes and ledges, all of which are complete.
