Description
Banks Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with a late 18th-century addition and 19th and 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, partly banded, with ashlar quoins and dressings. It features a Collyweston slate roof, which includes a single axial ridge stack with a stone base and twin yellow brick shafts, as well as a single red brick gable stack. The farmhouse has an L-plan layout and is two storeys high with a garret, presenting a four-bay front. The right-hand bay is an added gabled section. There is an off-centre 20th-century six-panel door, with two three-light and one two-light plain casements to the left. On the first floor, there are three similar two-light windows, with the leftmost ones having timber lintels. In the gable, there is another two-light window, while the right-hand openings feature ashlar lintels with keystones.
