Description
28 to 38 Albert Street is a row of six artisans' cottages built in the early 19th century. The cottages are constructed from dressed stone and feature slate roofs, with five ridge and a single gable brick stack. They stand two storeys high with garrets, measuring six bays wide and two bays deep. The south front displays a regular pattern of windows and doors, with six casement windows alternating with six doors on the ground floor, and six casements above. The rear elevation has a similar arrangement, with five casements and a much smaller casement to the right. Number 38 is attached to the north. On the west side, there is a door and a Yorkshire sash window under a common lintel, with another Yorkshire sash to the right and a casement window above to the left.
