Description

A row of nine early 19th century artisans' cottages is located on Albert Street, Mansfield Woodhouse. The cottages are built of dressed stone and have a mix of 20th century pantile and slate roofing, with gabled and hipped forms and six ridge stacks. The row is two storeys high, with a layout of four bays wide by eight bays deep, arranged in an L-shape. The west front, facing the street, has a centrally placed carriage entry featuring an elliptical arch with a keystone. This entry is flanked by single doors and casement windows. To the right of the carriage entry are a glazing bar sash window and a door. The doors all have keystoned round heads and fanlights, and above them are casement windows. The south front has a door flanked by windows to the left, followed by a door and two windows, then four doors each accompanied by a casement, and finally a single door. The upper floor has eight casement windows. The rear elevation mirrors the fenestration of the frontages.
